SHARI ZELLERS

A native Atlantan, Shari has been creating art and photographing the world around her since childhood. On her 7th birthday, a Kodak 126 Instamatic was given to her so she would stop commandeering her mom’s Canon Rangefinder (which later became hers anyways).

However, it was while studying as an Illustration major at the Atlanta College of Art when she was offered a freelance photographic opportunity for Nations Bank during the 1996 Olympic Games that convinced her she would be much happier behind a camera lens than sitting at a drawing table. 

She enjoys expressing herself in several mediums from Polaroid transfers and infrared black and white to the very basic Pinhole photography. She was so intrigued with the latter form that she traveled to Greece in 1998 to study with Eric Renner, considered by some as the father of modern Pinhole photography. 

For 20 years, she documented families & people – from weddings & babies to corporate & charity events – and won recognition in the special events industry with awards for best event photography six times in Atlanta. From that endeavor, she has mentored photographers nationwide and speaks publicly about her marketing and networking experience.
